Relooping fashion: making the clothes go round and round
It can only make you thinking about the amounts of money we spend every year for buying clothes and trying to be fashionable. And of course, the inevitable comes when, some time later, they are not fashionable or fitting anymore. What do we do next? Do we always repair them?
Like many things in our life (like mobile phones, cars, etc) some clothes cannot be repaired, it was not included in the way were produced. They were not designed to be repaired. Throw them away then but where? Not sure where they will eventually end since every year the exports of second and third hand clothes from Europe outside the continent does nothing but moving the problem from one country to another.
Reuse and re-purpose? That can be the key to a better approach, to help the environment and our conscience.
The finish Reloopfashion project is aiming to prove by example that circular economy can and will provide business opportunities which were not explored before.
The project was focused on reuse, re-purpose and recycling clothing and textiles and fashion garments, by this trying to offer solutions to reducing the resource consumption and the waste management costs.
The core idea of Relooping fashion is : 1. Clothes are designed for a longer life and use 2. Garments that are still in good condition should be reused 3. Re-purpose or recycled into a new fiber and clothes
